It’s not avocados, or oil, or plastics, or farming that’s unethical. It’s us. If only there was a way…

Just a quick one this. So now avocados are potentially unethical because the farms and industry (in Mexico at least) have been taken over by crime cartels.

And plastics are clogging up the seas.

And farming is animal abuse at scale, and mono culture for vegetarians.

And oil is the cause of wars.

And politics is all about power and lies.

And perhaps it was ever thus, and the more of us there are the more obvious it is.

And all these things are ‘unethical’.

But actually it’s not them. It’s us. As a species. We can’t seem to help it.

If only there was some way of humanity being ‘reborn’. Some way of all us being changed, inwardly, internally, into a species that loves one another, and loves the earth, and are motivated by healing and kindness and restoration.

If only.

Here’s a few lines of a carol.

‘Born that man no more may die:
Born to raise the son of earth,
Born to give them second birth.’
Here’s a few more.
‘But in this world of sin
Where meek souls will receive him still
The dear Christ enters in’
Couple more…
‘Cast out our sin and enter in
Be born to us today’

The clue is in the name. Happy Christmas.
