Sometimes people reach a level of poverty and discord which is stable and familiar. Rising above or out of it requires constant and sustained effort, of will, of heart, of strength, then, like a hot air ballon running out of fuel, as soon as you cease to strive you float back down to the same place you set off. It’s not rock bottom, it’s not even something to be fighting against, or trying to escape from. It’s home.
