Phoning us from a friends phone, she politely begged us to help. Her partner, she said, was literally begging, on the street. Spent what we could, to buy as much as we could. She has drug problems. It would be better for her to be in a rehab, but then what, back into the same place, same people, same problems. Sometimes all we can do is feed people, and show care, and compassion, and humanity.
