922 Ongoing Support For Our Man In Uganda

We have a guy in Uganda called Silviano, we support him with typically £200 – £300 per month. He tends to use half for himself and his family, and the other half for supporting other people in his village. He also tries to do and create projects with the money, although there’s never enough. He reminds me of myself in this respect.

Silviano’s an entrepreneur, we connected on LinkedIn about a year ago, he was posting prayers, I connected, we talked, I sent him a bit of money to see what he could do with it, and we’ve been working together ever since.

One of the projects Sil has successfully initiated was the purchase of some pigs for his village. This was about 6 months ago. The aim is to breed the pigs and sell them, creating an income and some sort of sustainable system. Recently the pigs had babies, and Silviano sent me the photos.

He’s a bit worried because there’s a kind of swine fever that’s spreading in Uganda, and killing off pigs… we hope these will be ok. He’s also worried about the Ebola epidemic that’s still spreading in the region.

This boy is one of Silviano’s nephews, the money from Ethical Much supporters has been used to buy bananas and ‘Irish Potatoes’ which are a real treat for them.
