Fly past to honour the brave.

This is a lovely story.

In 1945 Tony and his friends were playing in Endcliffe Park, Sheffield. A bomber plane, damaged and broken, came in to land on the field. Then the pilots must’ve seen the boys, and tried to wave them out of the way. But the boys didn’t realise what was happening, and stayed put.

The pilots of the plane turned and crashed into the trees. They didn’t survive.

A memorial is there. And every day for 75 years, Tony has visited and honoured those men.

Here’s the link from the BBC.

We’ll keep updating on the fly past. And big thanks to Dan Walker from BBC Breakfast for bringing it together.
