An interesting article I found on US Christianity
I’m a Christian, and I can relate to the headline of this article. It’s American, which is a different culture to the UK, but this article to me explains a lot about the seeming paradox between the high level of Christianity in the US, over 70% apparently, and the politics and culture of the US, which is often the seeming opposite of the teaching of Christ. I don’t recall many US Presidents standing up and saying, ‘You know, we need to forgive our enemies, like Jesus taught, and turn the other cheek. In fact, we need to love them.’ Imagine if a POTUS came out with that line. And followed it through. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.
So there’s a distinct disconnect between Christian belief and Christian action going on. Anyway, the article explains it so have a read. The site it’s on, by the way, is called HeartSupport.com, and it is..
Online support for life’s struggles. A community where metal music fans discover the strength to overcome adversity.
Which I think is really cool. Enjoy, be loved. Here’s the link to the article.
