Here’s how to heal nature and countryside.

This is what I’d do if I was in Government or had the power to do so.

I’d recruit 100,000 people, from the age 16 upwards, on one year contracts. Their job is to do environmental restoration.

This can include anything from litter picking in their local parks, to cleaning the rivers in their area, to clearing plastic off the beaches, or whatever it is they feel inclined to do.

I’d develop a website where they registered, and demonstrated what they were doing. Before and after photos, videos, this kind of thing.

They’d also be able to use the site to organise themselves into groups.

I’d pay them £10,000 for the year.

The total cost for this would be £1Billion. A small amount in Government terms.

These 100,000 people would have a massive impact on the local and national nature. It would transform the country.

It’s a trivial amount of money for a massive effect.

You know what. Apple could pay for it, easily. Or Facebook. Or Google. Or Shell. Or Exxon. Or BP. Our supermarkets could pool together and easily afford it.

Simple, easy, self organising by people who care. Affordable.
