790. Food and bathroom necessities

Which is a polite way of saying toilet roll. And when people live with no savings, which all these people do, and week to week / benefit payment to benefit payment, sometimes something as basic as loo roll becomes a necessity and a luxury. Also bought a good selection of Aldi food, including a whole chicken, which I find can last several days and several meals, plus fish, 4 tins of tuna, fresh mince meatballs, various veg and rice. Looking at the shopping list, I feel I should buy such a food parcel for myself, and see how long it lasts. I’m pretty sure one could eat for a week on it. Includes a jar of coffee. Maybe I’ll try it, for the next edition, I think I should.
