I used to take him food shopping in the pandemic, and also helped him by getting a doorstep lender to cancel his debt. Hadn’t heard from him for months, then he reached out asking for cleaning materials and a mop. When people are just surviving on low benefits it’s actually hard for them to spend money on cleaning products.
Went a bit over the top and bought a steel mop bucket that will last forever and a mop and five litres of washing liquid plus sponges and floor cleaner and sweeping brushes. Basically all the cleaning stuff he will ever need. Bought from Sharrowvale hardware, keeping it local.
Also donated some hand towels from Jonny and the full set of game of thrones books from me:)
