509. He’s got a hard story

We spent 20 minutes or so chatting, he’s caught in a loop of problems, alcohol dependency, mental and emotional unwellness, chaotic lifestyle, trouble with the police, it goes on. What I think he could do with is a load of new people in his life, to provide guidance, and just as role models to show there is another way to live. For many people, poverty and crime and chaos become normalised, it’s what they are, what they do, it’s what everyone they know is and does, and it’s just normal. And for them it is. Offering a new way to live is much part of the solution.
