912. The beginnings of a garden for a Sheffield couple.

By EMEditor | 1 May 26 11:47am | Good Deeds

There’s a couple we support who used to live in the tower blocks near the University but who now live in S35. It’s more of a drive away, but we still support them with a monthly shop, and with kindness and care. They now have a small ground floor flat with a little lawn, and space for a little garden. Last visit we sowed wildflower seeds on some barren patches of rocky soil.

The next time I visit I’ll take them these big pots, and with the compost and good soil, I’ll help them plant some seedlings. I think we could grow a pot of tomatoes, and possibly beans, and perhaps also plant a fruit tree, plum or cherry, and get some edging, and make it beautiful. They will really enjoy that, growing something, nurturing something, creating something beautiful. I don’t think they’ve done that before.

Thank you supporters. £22.48 from B&M… To be continued next edition.
