The was a lad outside the co op on Ecclesall rd, so I asked him if he needed anything. A cup of coffee. Anything else? A cheese and ham sandwich. Anything else? A chocolate bar.

Very well. I bought them and gave them to him. Wondered about buying him a scratch card at the same time, but decided not to. He said he was living in a caravan round the back of the shop, with his friend. Said it was cold and damp because they had no gas cylinder. Told me they cost £32 from GoOutdoors. Hmmm wondering whether to buy them one, but I need to get to know him and his situation a little better first.
