228./ The Church is now helping.

We’ve started working with STC, St Thomas’ Church, in Sheffield. The way it’s working is that we have referred some of our clients to the STC food bank, which means rather than buying these clients food parcels they are receiving the food donated by people via the Church. We are then collecting and delivering these parcels. This is good for us, because it frees up more resources, so now people can receive a food parcel and a utility top up, for example. It also means we don’t have an ever increasing number of people to provide for. In principle, it means we can reach out and find more people in need, not difficult, then refer them to additional providers. We’ll see how we get on with this.
