Art, technology, entrepreneurship, a courageous mix.

An interesting article landed in my LinkedIn stream, an interview with Founder and CEO of Vastari, Bernadine Bröcker Wieder.

Vastari is platform that connects museums, art collectors, and venues. For example, a museum putting on an exhibition of paintings relating to nature, can access the Vastari database of collectors holding works of the same subject. And collectors of artworks can lend their pieces to museums and international galleries, which as well as sharing those works with a wide audiences, has the secondary impact of possibly adding value to them.

It’s a unique system, a digitised network, and an industry that’s one of the oldest and most traditional you could hope to find.

It’s important because the story of art is not just the story of the art in public collections.
