A very typical scene in rural Cambodia. Always hot, usually sunny, sometimes raining. Chantha has brought this lady 15kg of rice, which will make a big difference, plus noodles, cooking oil, soy sauce, fish sauce. It’s very hard for people to earn a living in rural areas, especially once they get older. Often they do things like catch frogs, or small fish, or insects, to sell for a few dollars. They can get by on very little, providing they have rice. Typically Chantha spends about $25 per person for these deliveries, and will also pay a driver to take her there, which helps the driver as well, as they also tend to be in poverty.
